SCARLESS BREAST LIFT / SCARLESS BREAST AUGMENTATION

The small scar associated with your breast augmentation surgery is not placed anywhere near the breast itself. Of course, there must always be an entry point for your implant placement. Dr. Shuell has trained extensively in the performance of both TABA (Trans-Axillary Breast Augmentation), "underarm approach" and TUBA (Trans-Umbilical Breast Augmentation) "belly button approach." Not all patients may be appropriate candidates for the "Scarless" breast augmentation; during your consultation, Dr. Shuell will review all of your incision options.

Remember, all "scarless" breast augmentations require an incision and, hence, a scar, but the scar is eliminated from your breast and placed under your arms or within your belly button.

Scarless Breast Lift: Almost always combined with a trans-axillary (underarm) placement of sub-glandular (above the muscle) saline or silicone implants, the Scarless Breast Lift is a novel means of lifting the breast mound when the patient has a mild to moderate ptosis (drooping) of the breast. The implant gives the patient a volume increase, rounding the entire breast and projecting the nipples forward and slightly upward ('perky'); the internal fixation sutures add additional lift, fixing the upper part of the breast to some very secure tissues, to provide the extra lift not generated by the implants. A supportive bra is then worn for weeks following the lift/augmentation in order to cause the breasts to heal in their new, more perky position.
