VAGINOPLASTY

vaginal tightening, rejuvenation and reconstructive surgeries for over 25 years. Long before vaginoplasty was popularized by shows like 90210, Dr. Shuell was routinely doing some of the "Mommy Makeover” procedures, without the fanfare associated with today's over-hyped mass marketing. Vaginoplasty is an effective surgery to tighten the introital (entry) diameters of the vagina by the surgical realignment and tensioning of the muscles of the lower vagina. Properly performed, the surgery may result in the following:
- Greater ability to 'grip' one's sex partner during intercourse, producing more friction and contact, with more potential for mutual pleasure and orgasm.
- A reduction in the open or 'gaping' appearance of a vagina made lax by chilbearing.
The tighter vaginal anatomy has a more youthful and pleasing appearance. While not specifically designed to correct involuntary bladder leakage (stress urinary
incontinence), the stabilization imparted by the vaginoplasty can result in a gratifying return of control to the patient embarrassed and annoyed by these symptoms.
Increased confidence is certainly a result of a woman's knowing that she has the strength and control of a younger woman; Dr. Shuell's goal is to restore the vagina to
the condition it was in before childbearing.
CLITORAL ENHANCEMENT
Many of our Cosmetic Gynecology patients have issues with excessive skin enveloping the clitoris and its immediate area; the redundant skin may prevent clitoral stimulation during sex, as well as causing rather too much protrusion, as the peri-clitoral area is the most forward-projecting of all of the tissues of the genital cleft. During a standard labiaplasty, Dr. Shuell will, if desired, proportionately reduce these excess tissues, including a 'clitoral unhooding,' which deliberately targets these tissues to significantly reduce their bulk. When performed properly, a clitoral unhooding can significantly improve sexual responsiveness and the ability to orgasm. The clitoral unhooding may also be done as an isolated procedure, even if you elect not to trim the inner labia at that time.
LABIAPLASTY
