BUTTOCK RESHAPING & ENHANCEMENT

When the outward projection and fullness of the buttocks is diminished, a woman may feel that her figure is lacking a critical element for 'balance' and 'proportion.' A shapely 'rear' is unquestionably associated with sensuality and sexual attraction. Often, the natural outlines of the buttocks are obscured by adjacent excess fat deposits, usually in the flanks, hips and 'pre-sacral fat pad'. Thus, it is not surprising that we are able to significantly improve the appearance of the buttocks by liposculpting these adjacent areas, creating a beautiful, sweeping curve leading to the buttocks. The 'pre-sacral fat pad', centered just above the buttock crease, is critical to the buttocks' sensual appearance overall, and we maximize our efforts to shape this triangular 'hot spot.' This step alone can dramatically restore some of the original sensuality of the buttocks.

Fat, harvested from areas of undesired fatty excess, may be safely and effectively transferred to the buttock mounds (gluteal fat transfer/enhancement), beautifully improving the curvature and prominence of each. Grayhawk Cosmetic Surgery uses an ultramodern technique, the LipiVage System, to extract, separate, cleanse and replace exceptionally high-quality fat cells--all without touching the fat, exposing it to air, damaging high suction or centrifugation (high speed spinning).

Imagine, then, what can be accomplished when these two procedures are combined! A dramatic and lovely result can be attained when regional reshaping is performed along with fat transfer to the buttocks; reducing the surrounding anatomy while simultaneously enlarging and shaping the central mounds of the gluteal region can produce a truly exceptional appearance.

Undesirably large or disproportionate buttocks may be directly liposuctioned of excess fat, alone or in combination with liposculpture of other areas in the region. A word about 'gluteal (buttock) implants': at present, Grayhawk Cosmetic Surgery does not offer gluteal implants for the enhancement of the buttocks. Though Dr. Shuell has been trained in these techniques, he feels that this surgery presently does not enjoy the very low risk of complications required by our facility. Gluteal implant surgery carries a higher than desired risk of reoperation for adjustment/removal of implants, infection, and other issues. It may be that the pressures and stresses uniquely placed on buttock implants causes some of them to become misaligned; regardless of the cause, Dr. Shuell will not offer any surgical procedure that does not result in a consistent, predictable and relatively trouble-free aesthetic enhancement.
