He is a highly experienced and well-respected surgeon, with over 25 years of surgical experience. He is Certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery in the Specialty of Breast, Body and Extremities; he is also Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology for the practice of surgery of the female reproductive system.

A note about anesthesia: Dr. Shuell has made extensive arrangements to be able to offer local, tumescent and sedation-based anesthesia choices in place of a general anesthetic. When Grayhawk Cosmetic Surgery was in development, the entire patient experience was considered. The safety profile of your planned surgery is significantly improved by eliminating a general anesthetic; this also has the happy result of reducing or even completely eliminating some of the unpleasant side-effects associated with general anesthetic agents. Our patients can look forward to a recovery marked by the near-elimination of nausea & vomiting, fatigue, and temporary disorientation. We recognize that patients are often dehydrated by a general anesthetic, generating sensations of nausea and faintness. Headaches,
muscle & joint pain, and sore throat (from a tube used to protect your airway), can all be caused by a general anesthetic agent. When you think about it, these side-effects are like the flu--and we feel that you should not have to be inconvenienced by flu-like symptoms as you recover from your surgery!
